Why Carpet Cleaning is Require?
There are many reasons why carpets should not be neglected. Some of them are given below.
1.To increase the life of carpeting. Regular carpet cleaning using the extraction method can increase the life of carpets significantly, protecting your floor-covering investment.
2. Protects indoor air quality. Carpets trap airborne pollutants; however, eventually those pollutants must be removed in order to protect the carpet and maintain indoor air quality.
3. Makes carpets easier to maintain. Most carpet soiling is made up of dry soils; when carpets are kept thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis, most dry soils can be removed with regular vacuuming.
4. Removes spots and stains. As with other soils, spots and stains can attract more soiling. Removing them promptly protects carpeting from damage.
5. Prevents buildup of allergens and bacteria. Moist soiling of carpets can result in the buildup of several unhealthy contaminants.
6. Enhances the appearance of any room. Clean, well-maintained carpets speak volumes about the overall cleanliness of a home or facility.
7.. Removes dust mites and bedbugs that may have found a home in carpets.

Our Carpet Cleaning Methods
There are four basic methods of carpet cleaning and they include:
- Carpet shampooing
- External extraction
- Bonnet/ hood cleaning
- Dry powder method
Carpet Shampoo Method
This method requires the production and utilization of a large quantity of foam. The foam is left on the surface of the carpet to dry off. The foam makes all the dirt and sandy soil and the carpet accumulate together, making it very easy to be vacuumed afterwards.
A good carpet shampooing product must have the following characteristics:
- Very high level of foam to reduce carpet damping.
- Dry to a non sticky residue.
- Very stable foam.
Hence, a good carpet shampoo must contain very high amount chemical foam. The most common carpet shampoo ingredient is sodium lauryl sulfate or its derivatives. Sodium lauryl sulfate and its derivatives have very high and very stable foam.
The only problem with sodium lauryl containing carpet shampoos is that they dry to a soft sticky residue which makes the carpet prone to being dirtied again. As a result of this con, carpet shampoos often have anti-resoiling additives, such as resins to reduce this disadvantage.
Two main types of machines are used for the carpet shampooing procedure and they are:
- Cylindrical foam
- Rotary shampoo
The cylindrical foam machine makes use of an air compressor to create the dry foam before applying the foam on the carpet. After this has been done, the carpet is then brushed with rotating cylindrical brush that combs the foam through the carpet so as to incorporate the foam into the carpet. This method usually causes dirt to be trapped in the carpet so the carpet should be vacuumed thoroughly before and after cleaning.
The rotary shampoo method makes use of an ordinary rotary floor machine that sprays shampoo from a dispensing tank onto the carpet. A rotary brush then whips the detergent continuously until it turns into foam. Almost all carpet producing companies and carpet fiber producers advice against the use of rotary brushes on carpets because of the potential damage that may occur.
Excessive wetting is common with this carpet cleaning method and it can cause stress jute, carpet shrinkage and foul smelling.
Hot Water Extraction or Steam Cleaning
This carpet cleaning method is recommended by almost all manufacturers of carpet and carpet fiber producers. It is the only cleaning method classified as “deep cleaning” because it cleans the carpet intensely and perfectly. All other carpet cleaning methods are considered “light surface cleaning” or “intermediate cleaning” due to their inability of removing the soil particles that lie deep in the carpet fibers. In addition, all other methods leave large quantities of cleaning agent on the carpet after cleaning and need to be vacuumed again after cleaning.
This carpet cleaning technique is often referred to as steam cleaning, because a fine spray of water is usually used to force dirt from the carpet which is then sucked away using the vacuum slot in front of the spray slot. This can be done with a mounted drive in a truck in front of the house with only the hose and floor tool brought inside the house or a portable system brought into the home or office.
From the healthy point of view, the truck mounted system is most preferable because the dirty air and moisture are exhausted to the outside and not circulated around the house. In addition, Truck mounted systems are generally more powerful than the portable units and do a much better job cleaning and drying carpets faster. Steam carpet cleaning services are done to perfection by highly qualified personnel by using the following steps:
- Initial Inspection
- Final Inspection
Bonnet Procedure / “Cleaning Gas”
This carpet cleaning method is an adaptation of using hard floor sprays to clean the carpets. It involves the use of rotating or oscillating brushes adapted with a strong stiff brush. The carpet can be sprayed with the solution or pads can be soaked in the solution and lightly squeeze to remove some of the fluid before placing them under the rotating brush.
This process has a very limited ability to remove dirt and leaves a lot of detergent in the carpet because it does not actually extract any dirt from the carpet. Another con is that the rotating bonnet can damage the carpet fibers.
Carpet Absorbent Cleaners or Dry Cleaning
This method is often called “dry cleaning“, because it uses virtually little or no water.
In this procedure, the dry absorbent composite is sprinkled on the carpet with the sole purpose of attracting and absorbing the dirt particles. The absorbent compound is then incorporated manually into the carpet with the use of a brush.
The absorbent material for cleaning is usually organic, but polymers can also be made use of. It is assumed that the compound absorbs the soil particles and this makes it easier for the dirt to be vacuumed. The carpet should be vacuumed thoroughly before and after cleaning.
This carpet cleaning technique is most commonly used because it has the advantage of no drying time since little fluid or liquid is used for the maintenance.
All the above mentioned tasks usually include the level of professionalism that only a well trained and qualified person can possess.
